We are always thrilled to get a chance to photograph an event at The Merion, one of our most popular venues. While Ryan Young’s images can only scratch the surface of the emotions, I want to share some of what made this day so special.

Pre-Wedding Events

The Mehendi ceremony was a celebration of intricate artistry. The bride’s henna-stained hands, adorned with stunning patterns, were more than just beautiful—they symbolized love, luck, and new beginnings.

Next came the Haldi ceremony, a moment filled with playful chaos and heartfelt blessings. The bride and groom, dressed in hues of sunshine yellow, were covered in turmeric paste by their loved ones—a ritual meant to bring prosperity and radiance. The energy of the event was undeniable.

Then, the Sangeet brought the house down. In front of a canopy of colorful drapes and twinkling lights, the couple’s friends and family filled the dance floor with exuberant performances.

The Wedding Day

As the bride was getting ready, her mother lovingly adjusted her veil, placing the finishing touches on her appearance. There’s something incredibly intimate about this—something that transcends the physical act and becomes a moment of pure love and care. The bride’s smile says it all: a smile of excitement, of joy, and of gratitude.

The venue, The Merion, was a beautiful backdrop that made all the colors of the wedding pop. Its grandiosity was matched by the warmth of the couple’s family and friends who surrounded them with such love and laughter. The floral arrangements, perfectly curated, filled the space with vibrant colors, like the red, pink, and gold tones that adorned the wedding stage.

I can’t help but think of how well this wedding day illustrated the power of connection—not just between the bride and groom, but also between their families. You frequently saw the bride and groom walking together hand-in-hand, their bond symbolic of the union they’re entering. One photo that really stood out to me was of the couple walking hand-in-hand in the rock garden. The serene, natural background emphasized the peacefulness and promise of their future together.

The Reception

The wedding festivities reached their peak with a reception that was nothing short of magical. The couple made a glamorous entrance, exuding elegance in their stunning gold and black ensembles, setting the tone for an evening of celebration.

Against the backdrop of luxurious décor, cascading florals, and shimmering chandeliers, they shared their first dance surrounded by clouds—creating a moment straight out of a dream. The energy on the dance floor was electric, with friends and family bringing their best moves, heartfelt performances, and infectious joy. From choreographed routines to spontaneous bursts of celebration, every moment radiated love and excitement.
